Columbian president Santos, who received the 2016 Nobel Peace Prize for his efforts to end the 52-year long civil war in Columbia, comments on his experience with the Transcendental Meditation Technique:
“I practice Transcendental Meditation and have a lot of experience. I think it is not only important to have patience, but also to persevere. When you do it right, then you will also see the results.”

Columbia is also the home of Catholic priest Father Gabriel Mejia, who uses Transcendental Meditation in his work to help thousands of street children to get rid of trauma from the past and get set up for success in their lives. 3. Big Bang Theory features TM

Big Bang TheoryIn the famous TV series “The Big Bang Theory”, the Transcendental Meditation bubble diagram appeared on the whiteboard. It seems like somebody in the show likes TM. 🙂

The bubble diagram explains how the mind is like an ocean, active at the surface and progressively more quiet as you get to the bottom. In the same way, our conscious thinking mind is very active, and underneath that active layer is an ocean of less active sub-conscious levels of thinking. Every thought we have comes up from the source of our thinking, pure consciousness at the very bottom of the ocean, and travels, like an air-bubble would, through the different layers of our sub-conscious mind. When it reaches the conscious thinking mind, we experience it as a thought. Any stress or negative experiences from the past that are lodged in our sub-conscience can also influence our thoughts as they pass through.

Transcendental Meditation is a technique that allows the mind to travel in the opposite way. It starts at the conscious thinking mind and through a very simple, natural, effortless technique, the mind experiences more and more quiet levels of thinking, until it transcends the finest level of thinking and becomes one with the source of thought, pure consciousness. And through the process, the technique can also eliminate the deep stresses that might be present in our subconscious, in a very natural and effortless way. In this way, the beautiful person you are deep inside can more easily shine through at the surface levels of life where anybody who is dear to you can enjoy it.
